FASHION BLOGGER STRIKES AGAIN !!!!!!!!! YAY

sup! sup! suppy readerzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!! bonjour! 

a bitch has been back in le lower east side for a week now and i've been busy as a mf. Now im not saying I want to lead a totally meaningless existence... but i effing hate being busy!!!!! like... i had four meetings last week. what le fuck. its not that i dont care about creative output at allll... but hello that's what the blogs for....! anyways, what did I wear to le meetings? Jean shorts. extremely micro, white, jean shorts. Balance, peepz. Cant go all pro pro at once, ya gotta juxtapose if you want to be chic AF. And despite my new hustler lifestyle - i managed to compile an epic list of my top ten fashion purchases from the past ten (ish) years(as requested in le comments). Annnnnd i logged some cutie outfits (most of which include le white jean shorts) and a lil decor update! blablabla.. bla bla.

10. LOUIS VUITTON STEPHEN SPROUSE SPEEDY BAG, 2017(?)
purchased: L TRAIN Vintage, East Village.
cost: $25
- Finding this bag just before le Kardashian powered Sprouse revival was pure luck. I think you'll find that with most of these treasured items- there's a sense of divine intervention. The story starts tragically:  I lived above L Train Vintage as a Parsons "Sophmore" ( I did not attend class, I partied). Even then, I knew L Train was tragic- but I love cliché vintage vibes! And cheap shit! I was making my typical rounds around le store looking for another 80s party dress to cut into a blouse when I saw IT behind le counter: a pristine, like good as new,  LV Sprouse Speedy bag with a 25 dollar price tag. It didn't even occur to moi that it might be real... I purchased the purse immediately. When I showed my friends my purchase, the designer obsessed pals kept telling moi it seemed pretty real upon inspection! "OMG WTFF",  I thought. Now the bag was a bit loaded... I wanted to wear it to death....... but it miiiight be worth some serious resale money. I took it to a designer consignment shop. Even they said they were pretty sure it was le real deal!! So what did I do? DUhhhhhhhhhhhh my impulsive ass dragged that thing allll over New York City. It's had approximately 92 drinks spilled on it, 1033 cigarette packs tossed inside, and been to at least 47 bars. It looks like absolute shit now. I utterly destroyed it. And I still effing have the thing! if you ask moi- the value should be even higher now.. its lived an extremely glamourous life, and is loved the way most love the family dog. 

9. CHANEL BAGS 1, 2020
purchased: Canal Street, Chinatown. 
cost: $40
-okay peepz, im not talking about the big, purple Chanel I got avec Miss I in midtown- we've been over that already here on le portal.. and to be effing honest.. she's the ugly sister. Im talking about the classic, white jumbo flap Chanel I got like two winters ago on Canal. I had been jonesing for a new bag ( I was tragically still lugging around the LV). I got a check from a gig and stomped down Canal street, friends in tow, in below freezing weather. The cold did affect my ability to haggle and I still think I overpaid. Never the less, old rich people ask me if its real all the time. When it comes to le faux- Its about how you wear the bag. A million times worth it. 

8.GLADIATOR SANDALS, 2010(??) maybe earlier idfk
purchased: Italian Shoemaker, Florence. 
cost: probz like $100-200
-One of the le best gifts I've ever received. A seminal fashion moment pour moi. I was dragging behind Mum and Papa on the great American, corny ass vacation to Italy. Good food... beautiful place... bla bla bla. I mostly remember watching gorgeous Italian woman walking in stilettos over cobblestone in Milan and the epic fast fashion shopping (it was peak Zara era). On our last day in Florence, we walked the winding streets looking in the windows of the city's famed leather shops. Now its important that you understand- this was the summer of the gladiator. They weren't yet available at most stores .... but Mary Kate Olsen was def wearing them and I effing wanted them!!We walked into on of the leather shops. I can still remember the smell. An old cutie man showed me many pairs of fuggo (hand cobbled) sandals... and then finally.... the perfect gladiators. They were thin, dark brown leather soles, with like over 2 feet of smooth brown straps that could lace all the way up the calf or be crisscrossed around the ankles - tres boho chic.  Le only problemo- these had to be handmade and we were leaving in the AM. I will love my parents forever for this- they fed my intense passion fo fashion. They arranged to have them made overnight and picked up on our way out of town. When I got them the next morning, the leather was still wet with dye... but I: a glutton for instant gratification,  laced them on up, effectively dying my legs with tiger stripes for the rest of the trip. extreme swag. 

7.TAXI DRIVER ARMY JACKET, 2012
purchased: Urban Outfitters Black Friday Sale, Southern California
cost: $10
-Context:  Im a freshman in Highschool and deffo feel caught in an extremely awkward fashion space. I want to fit in but everyone at my school dresses like shit. The hipsters and the drama kids dress the best- but they still dress like shit. I'm 14 with braces and everything looks bad on moi. Most days, I wear some form of tragic platform shoe. It is 2012. Maybe 2011. I can't understand why I'm not tumblr famous yet. Thrift shopping is certainly not taboo but we are nowhere near the depop level we are at now. Mall culture is having its last hurrah. Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, and Free People are still on my radar. Brandy Melville is new but I'm not into it. Its Black mother fuckin Friday. Post Thanksgiving in le Californian burbs- its time to shop. I find nothing the entire night. Piles of shitty crop tops rule the holiday. At the last stop, Urban, I halfheartedly check a clearance rack outside the entrance. Bingo! I find a pair of fake Manolo looking, pointed toe, stiletto heeled combat boots. ANddd thennnnn- a $10 army jacket a la Robert Deniro's murderous Taxi Driver!!! Perfect to hide in. The boots broke at lunch at school almost immediately (tres embarassing but also tres chic if you ask moi). The jacket I wore for the rest of the year. It kept me a bit alt, but like mall- bought alt. A skater in my English always called me a hipster for wearing it. 

6.WHITE HEELS, 2017
purchased: Goodwill Bins, Long Island City. 
cost: $1.50
-If you've known moi for more than a few years, you know my white heel era. Probz the least mentally stable era of my life. Er.. well.. one of them... I was pseudo going to Parsons- AKA showing up to the odd class with zero work done, living in a cursed, tiny, frantic fucking east village apartment full of soundcloud rappers, cigarettes, and vintage bullshit (ZERO furniture), and living off almost exclusively pressed benzos , diet coke, and snickers bars. At this time in my life- I was especially obsessed with Edie Sedgwick. My life was never ending drama and I liked to wear tights as pants, massive bangles up to my elbows, two rings on every finger, and clip-on earrings. I never washed my clothes or my hair. I definitely never ever washed the apartment. When I moved out I realized the fridge had been unplugged for months. I hadn't opened it once all spring and come summer whatever food had been in there had become the center of a fucking fly infestation. Oui- hundreds of dead bugs! Lolz.. back to le white heels. In the midst of this Edie Sedgwick chaos (I also started une petite fire in my apartment) I became infatuated with little kitten heels. Everyone at 2016ish Parsons was wearing fucking AF1s and chunky 90s boots... bleh. I got in the habit of going to the Goodwill outlet bins and grabbing every pair worn out grandma heel I could find. I could make most sizes work (bloody ankles are vibey), the more broken they were the chicer (Any Winehouse), and at the bins they were like one or two dollars a pop. I'd fill a duffle bag full of the things and trek back downtown from long island city. My favorite pair quickly became a 2.5inch heeled white round toe. Kind of like the ones a certain NYC label uses now for le runways.  I'd usually pair it with white gym socks. It was an extremely glam staple that became my signature for the year. Like all great shoes- these fell apart beautifully. First, the white turned grey and collected mud around the edges. Chic. Then, the leather began to scuff and roll up. Chicer. Finally- the rubber tips of the heels fell off, causing the shoes to make a loud, hollow clack with every step I took. Chicest. I wore them down to ballet flats. 

5.CUTE BUT PYSCHO WEDDING DRESS, 2018- 2019
purchased: MyUnique, The Bronx.
cost: $20
-Unsurprisingly, I've always had a tough time walking away from humongous, heaping piles of white satin. But if you shop a lot, you know they're a dime a dozen in thrifts. I never wanted a wedding dress to just collect dust, or even worse: turn into some horrendous teenage photoshoot item. I've had a couple throughout the years, and its always fun- but when I found this dress- I knew it was special. Let moi set scene un: It was 2018. I was walking the long, carpeted aisles of the  MyUnique thrift just off the 1 train's  231st Street stop. As always, I slowed at the gown section. Everything here was always a bit too expensive for my taste, even on the 50 percent off days. I'd rather spend $20 on a plastic bag full of their eclectic jewelry than on a dress I'd wear once. But I also had this obsession with trains going on.... And the wedding dress I had begun to examine on the rack had one of the longest I'd ever seen.... And upon closer inspection I could see that the dress' skirt would be very easy to lob off turning the dress into a blouse with a over 10 foot stretch of fabric behind it. SOLD!          
    Scene deux: Im strutting through the Lower East side . The year is 2019 and I'm on le way to "host" CLUB EAT at the tragic, but nostalgically beloved, Mehanata. My outfit- the effing Wedding dress top!!!!! I fucking flexed- my train swooping up cigarette butts and beer cans as I walked from my Stanton Street amaze/ shithole apartment to the club. Sometimes - people in the streets know to part for you. If this walk was the Exodus, Ludlow Street was the MF red sea and my effing outfit was Moses! ...or something like dat....
        Scene trois: Its 2020 and my friend and I are collabing on a forever21 ripoff clothing capsule: Cute but Psycho. V limited edition. Anyways she's screen printing clothing we've found at the goodwill bins and hawking them for a pretty decent profit. E=mc2!! I have a stroke of genius ! I wanna print on the wedding dress train! It already had its moment and needs a refresh! She prints over the dirty as eff, stained satin and voila- the piece is complete. I wore it to some horrible 444 club shopping party. Now it just hangz on my clothing rack. It's pretty busted and I like it that way. I'll never toss it. I think one day, the wedding top avec train might even get another remix. tbd. 

4.ANKLE WATCH, 2016
purchased: Dumb Thrift, East Village
cost: $3
-OKAY this one i got at an effing redic "thrift" store i worked out. And by thrift store i mean my shifty bosses would pickup actual trash upstate (like the leftovers at dead peoples estate sales and stuff on the side of the road) and have me hawk it on 2nd avenue to art students and east villagers. But this was before i started working there. I just grabbed it one morning on a hungover stroll because I had developed a massive watch obsession my second semester of Parsons. First I wore one broken watch, then I added another on the same wrist, and then I added a massive Ed Hardy watch a friend gifted moi. My internship boss called me Flavor Flave and she was spot mf on! Finallyyyyy I added a larger watch to my ankle. This was way before those stupid shoes came out with the watch ankle strap by thaaaaa wayy. I need to believe that I am orginal! I wore the ankle watch all summer 2017, usually with stiletto's. it was an extreme vibe. I almost never wear accessories theze days (save my prayer beads)... been there done that I guess. 

3.GIANT WHITE RIBBON, 2016
purchased: Fabric Stores
cost: $7
-Im pretty sure I was already rocking this when I moved to nyc. I would legit wear 4 feet of thick, white ribbon around my neck every single fucking day. I'd buy new spools when it started to look like dirty toilet paper. Obviously, I develop intense, ultimately meaningless, obsessions with clinging to redic accessories. If anyone cares to psychoanalyze - le comment section is open. I wore the giant ribbons for probably over a year.  My roommate gave me that children's book about the girl who wears a green ribbon around her neck every day of her life and then finally takes it off and her head falls off.  In my late-teenage, manic pixie dream girl, drugged out mind: the ribbon was now deep af. But i was ready to let it go soon after. Chokers started getting majorly played out and I didn't want to be a part of that. So to keep things melodramatic AF- i walked to fun city tattoo with my friend Lola and got a little neck tattoo of a spine with a green ribbon around the top. This is when I thought tattoos needed to mean something (they don't). 

2.PROM DRESS, 2015
purchased: Jet Rag Vintage, Los Angeles. 
cost: $30
-This prom was literally at a Ronald Regan museum/library. There were cardboard cut outs and photos of the loser everywhere. I decided I wanted to give Anna Nicole Smith's wedding at prom. I was finally blonde after years of longing for Sky Ferreira locks. My bff and i drove to Jet Rag on La Brea in my Toyota Camry 1999. I was the worlds shittiest driver. trust moi. I just cant do it! Another reason  I'm anti Los Angeles. Who the eff wants to drive everywhere when u can just take the subway in nyc.... Anyways I quickly found le dress. Prom waz whatever but Im glad I went. My parents realized I had gotten a weed leaf tattoo while taking photos and it was kind of drama... lolz. The dress honestly got swagger when I re-wore it. Everybody should be rewearing their prom dresses. Beat them up! Get them dirty, they'll look much better. I'd wear it casually to art school parties and around 14th street.  Sentimental swag. 

1. KEEP BACK 200 FT SHORTS 2016

purchased: Mulberry Street, Little Italy.

-finally, the all time best fashion purchase. It wasn't the most exciting to buy- but its def my most worn clothing item everrrrrrr. I have had five pairs (3 are currently in rotation) and have been wearing them for over like five years! One of my best friends when I first moved to New York lived on Mulberry Street and I would constantly buy everything the little Italy tourist shops had to offer: bling, hats, watches, hoodies... whatever. I wore "I <3 NY" swag outfits (tshirt and shorts) weekly for a few months in 2015. I was channeling Mary Kate and Ashley in New York Minute. One lucky day- I noticed a new addition to the booty short racks: "KEEP BACK 200 FEET" they said on the ass. Just like the nyc fire trucks! fab! I bought a pair for 10 bucks and they became an every-other-day staple for moi. So i bought a second. And i wore those things fucking thin and holey and then got more.  I wear them to the club, I wear them to the deli, I wear them to work, I wear them to shop. Always have and hopefully always will. I think they'll look especially chic when I'm 80 years old with saggy tattoos and wrinkles. They're my blue jeans.

2. BOHO CHIC ON TOP, AMERICAN APPAREL ON LE BOTTOM. SHEERLING AND PATENT LEATHER DO GO TOGETHER. I THINK THE RED SHOES AND THE HARSH BLACK TIGHTS UNDER THE DIRTY WHITE SHORTS IS SWAGGY AS HELL. 

4. I LOVE TO REPEAT OUTFITS. THIS LOOK IS JUST A BIT REMIXED. NIX THE SHEERINGLING, ADD MY ALEXA CHUNG COAT AND SLUTTY STOCKINGS. IT WAS RAINING SO I OPTED FOR RUBY SLIPPERS INSTEAD OF HEELS.
